STEP AHEAD Dance School has been established for over 25 years and was first opened by Miss Yvonne Gilmore. Over the years the Heald Green based school has grown and grown and is now one of the most reputable dance schools in the Stockport area. Now run by Natalie Bates, Step Ahead is a school that takes pride in teaching dance and aims to produce high quality dancers. The classes are designed to be as enjoyable as possible with a big emphasis on fun.
Ballet

Step Ahead ballet classes are designed for those who wish to develop the technique and classical ballet skills from the ‘once-a week’ class. We offer both NATD and RAD classes including pointe work sessions for senior pupils.
Tap
Tap
NATD tap has a well structured syllabus which ranges from junior grades right through to Professional Teaching Certificates. We aim for our pupils to become tap dancers with a strong sense of rhythm not just tappers.
Modern
Modern
The Modern Stage syllabus is designed to prepare the body to stretch, limber and strengthen for more difficult routines and movements. The syllabus also develops choreographic skills needed in later grades in order to attain a teaching qualification.
Street
Street
Fairly new to Step Ahead, the street dance class is open to anyone wishing to have fun and get fit through a popular form of modern dance. A real work out – its not for the faint hearted and is held on a Friday evening at 6:15pm.
