Local Campaigners Save Broadoak Post Office

Local campaigners have successfully overturned the decision to close Broadoak Post Office. Cllr Alan Whitehead from Tameside Council and Ashton MP David Heyes, have been campaigning for the last three months to prevent the closure of this well used branch, which has received the support of over a thousand local residents and businesses.

Get on board the bus for benefits

The Benefits Bus is back in town next week with staff on board to help people with their benefit claims. The bus is visiting Hattersley, Ashton, Denton and Hyde for a week from Monday 12 January.

Families get their marching orders

Splash happy families are to get their marching orders as part of a £1m package of measures to get Tameside active. The borough’s Sport and Physical Activity Alliance (SPAA) organised a Winter Welly Walk, in partnership with Hyde Flowery Children's Centre, as one of a wide range of events and activities to encourage people to take more exercise.
