3592_greytweedskirtpinkchiffonscarfevening The founders of Green Dot Guides Ltd which publishes Natural Collection , Joanne and Julian Spector, sold their profitable water cooler business in 1998. They were interested in getting involved in environmental issues that affect us all.

They recognised that in order to have a wider reach on the Internet, and create a distribution platform for innovative sustainable products, they needed to develop a solid, well-run, professional shopping channel. In this way they could reach the interested consumer, and wider public audience, who they could engage in the subject of sustainability and encourage to make positive choices in their shopping habits.

They mail out nearly two million Natural Collection catalogues to a fast growing customer database and half their daily sales are now taken on their website www.naturalcollection.com

"The definition of environmentally friendly is always evolving," points out Julian. "So I tend to use the term environmentally considered."

Julian and Joanne are natural born optimists. "We believe that positive change will happen, and that shopping habits will improve accordingly" says Julian

"We have a non-guilt vision. You've got to make it easy for people to want to change. Better than preaching to the converted, we have to reach the broader public and encourage them to think about their choices even in a small way."
